Best REITs to Buy in June 2024

Are you looking for the best REITs to buy in June 2024 to build your passive income? Which REIT gives you the highest current dividend yield in June 2024? Singapore Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are a popular choice for generating passive income. My stock portfolio mainly comprises of REITs that I have bought over the years, and they have been paying me steady streams of dividends.

In 2023, I collected a total dividends payout of $16,606.89. Majority of my dividends come from REITs in my stock portfolio. High quality REITs are those that constantly pay you dividends and are able to grow their Distribution Per Unit (DPU) year-on-year.

In the month of May, the Federal Reserve announced that it has decided to leave its key interest rate unchanged at between 5.25% and 5.5%. The reason was because inflation rates continue to stall and there was a lack of progress in terms of bringing the inflation rate under control. This meant that finance costs will remain high, and REITs have to bear this high finance costs.

Many investors sold off their REITs when they saw DPU fell because of higher finance costs being reported in the latest financial results. Such panic caused the sell down of many REITs. I view this as an opportunity for me to continue accumulating dividend yielding REITs to grow my passive income. Why? This is because when share prices of REITs decreases, the current dividend yield increases.

Current Dividend Yield

The current dividend yield is a ratio that indicates how much a company pays out in dividends each year relative to its stock price. It is a useful metric for investors to assess the return on investment from dividends alone, without considering any potential capital gains or losses from stock price movements.

However, a higher dividend yield does not always mean that it is a better investment. We should always consider the overall financial health and growth prospects of the REIT when evaluating dividend yields.

One of the ways that I personally use to obtain the current dividend yield of all the REITs when the stock market crash is to run a stock screener to get the results.

There are many stock screening tools out there. As such, it is not difficult to obtain a shorter list of good REITs and their current dividend yield for further analyse and decision making.
