Above is the progress of me reaching my targeted financial goals for June 2022. The total value of my financial assets reached an all time high of 62.86%. The reason for the significant increase was due to an increase in cash savings because of company performance bonus pay out.
If you wonder how I compute the total value of my financial assets, they are:
- Insurance savings (NTUC RevoSave, Singlife, Dash EasyEarn, Dash PET)
- Savings accounts (POSB, OCBC, CIMB)
- Singapore Savings Bonds
- Current value of my stocks
- Auto Investing (Syfe)
- Supplementary Retirement Scheme
Insurance Savings
Singlife, DashEasyEarn and Dash PET are alternative to traditional savings accounts whereby I park some cash aside and let them grow.
I have reached the maximum allowed amount of S$20,000 in Dash EasyEarn which is giving me a return of 1.2% per annum.
Dash PET is also giving me 0.70% p.a. for the first S$10,000. You can earn a higher additional crediting rate if you purchase their Add-on Protection.
Singlife return stays at 1% p.a. for the first S$10,000.
Savings accounts (POSB, OCBC, CIMB)
I have took opportunity of the rising interest rates and placed a 12 months fixed deposit with CIMB.
Singapore Savings Bonds
Singapore Saving Bonds continue to be an almost risk free investment. The effective interest rate for SBJUL22 is 2.71% p.a. over a 10 years period. Readers who wanted safe haven or place for emergency funds should consider.
In June, I have collected the following interest payout from the Singapore Savings Bonds that I have bought every month over the years.
- June 2019 (GX19060S)
- December 2018 (GX18120X)
- June 2018 (GX18060H)
My Stock Portfolio and Dividend Payout
I use Stocks Café to keep track of the total value worth of my stocks.
In May, I have received the dividend payout from Mapletree Commercial Trust, ST Engineering, Frasers Logistics and Commercial Trust and Mapletree Logistics Trust.
There are no changes to my Singapore Stock Portfolio.
Taking opportunity of the recent US stock market crash, I added a couple of stocks such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, Verisign to develop my growth stock portfolio.
Auto Investing with Syfe
Syfe continue to perform poorly with a time weighted return of (8.17)%. This is because the portfolio I chose is heavy weighted on Equity. When tech stocks in the China and US market crashes, it is expect they will drag equity markets down.
If you want to know more, the Capital Growth portfolio comprises of 69.0% equity, 25.0% Bond, 5.6% Commodity and 0.4% cash.
Summary of Financial Goals Progress June 2022
Rising interest rates and worries of rising inflation continued to plague investors. The US stock market remains volatile.
At this point of writing, the stock market seems to be recovering from the recent crash. As such, I shall be holding on to my cash and wait for the next opportunity to buy some of my favourite stocks at cheap bargains.
During the recent US stock market crash, I have learnt that controlling fears and emotions is particularly important.
I stayed invested.
