Best Fixed Deposit Rates October 2026

Best fixed deposit rates October 2026 in Singapore are climbing again, with several banks raising rates right at the start of the quarter. Fixed deposits, also known as time deposits, remain one of the simplest and safest ways to grow idle cash, and October brings a noticeably stronger spread of options compared to the quieter rates seen through most of the third quarter.

Fixed deposits work by placing a fixed sum with a bank for a set tenure, ranging from a few months to a couple of years, in exchange for a guaranteed interest rate. Your funds stay locked in for the duration, but in return you get stable, predictable returns unaffected by market swings, unlike REITs or dividend stocks. Every rate below is pulled directly from each bank’s own official rates page, not a third-party aggregator, so you can click through and verify each one yourself.

Across the market, the best fixed deposit rates in Singapore this October span a wide range of tenures and minimum placement amounts. RHB, Maybank, and Bank of China are among the standouts this month, while the three local banks (DBS, UOB, OCBC) remain relatively conservative by comparison.

UOB Fixed Deposit Rates

For October 2026, UOB is running a promotion from 23 September to 31 October on 6-month and 10-month tenures, with a new 12-month tenure also added this round. The highest rate available is 1.70% p.a. on the 12-month tenure, with a minimum of S$10,000 in fresh funds required.

Tenure: 6 months
Interest Rate: 1.60% p.a.
Minimum Amount: S$10,000 (fresh funds)
