Financial Goals Progress for April 2025

Long Term Financial Goal Progress for April 2025

Here I am again to update my Financial Goals Progress for April 2025. The month of April had been a roller coaster ride for me. If you are a stock investor, you would have experienced the share prices of your stocks such as DBS, UOB and OCBC crashing overnight due to the tariffs Trump imposed on various countries. Subsequently, Trump announced the delay of the tariffs for all countries except China. With the positive news, the share prices of most companies recovered promptly.

As you can see from the above, the total value of my financial assets improved slightly from March 89.23% to 89.27% in April 2025. What is included in the total value of my financial assets? The total value of my financial assets is based on insurance savings, savings accounts (POSB, OCBC, CIMB, UOB, Trust, GSX), Fixed DepositsSingapore Savings Bonds, Singapore Treasury Bills, current value of my stocks, and funds in Supplementary Retirement Scheme account.

Why am I setting and tracking financial goals? Financial goals are objectives that I have set in order to achieve financial success. Setting financial goals is important as it provides direction and motivation for managing money effectively. By establishing clear financial goals, I can track my progress, make informed decisions, and work towards achieving financial stability and security. My financial goal to stash sufficient money (target) which can help me to retire early in Singapore.

Updates on My Stock Portfolio

My Stock Portfolio 25 April 2025

In April, I bought DBS and increased my position on OCBC Bank. Taking opportunity of the weakness in the stock market, I also increase my position in CapitaLand Investment Ltd to my stock portfolio.

During the market turbulence, Frasers Centrepoint Trust decided to launch its preferential offering. I accepted and applied for the excess units. Perhaps the preferential offering was launched at the wrong time which dampened demands, but I am happy because I was fully allocated the excess units that I applied for. The results of the preferential offering can be found here.

Side Hustle

What is a side hustle? A side hustle is a way to make extra money outside of your full-time job. It is typically a passion project or small business that you work on during your free time to bring in additional income. Side hustles can range from freelance work, selling products online, offering services, or even renting out property. Many people start side hustles to pursue their interests, build new skills, or save up for a specific goal.

Last week, I decided to take the plunge and started a new side hustle. If you noticed, I start a shop selling stock investments and personal finance related books on my blog. I often purchase personal finance related books to improve my financial literacy. Below are the books I had listed so far on my shop.
