Below are details about CNY New Notes 2025. Chinese New Year (CNY) falls in January and as part of our Chinese New Year traditions, we will prepare CNY new notes for our red packets. Do you know why must we give new notes during Chinese New Year? The reason is because new notes represent a new start to the new year.
There are a few ways to obtain new notes. You can either make an online reservation with the bank or withdraw new notes from pop up ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) that will be placed island wide in Singapore. Walk-in to the bank branches is also possible but limited to senior customers who are above 60 years old and customers with disability.
As usual, banks provide “Fit Notes” whereby the condition of these notes are good as new and fit for gifting. “Fit Notes” are a good way to reduce carbon emissions. These “Fit Notes” are available at only certain pop-up ATM locations.
To support the go green initiative, I always chose to withdraw “Fit Notes” from the nearest ATM where I stay. These pop-up ATMs are usually located near the Community Clubs which added convenience to us.
