Based on the Singapore Treasury Bills auction results, the cut off yield for BS24107N is 3.75%. If you want to retire early in Singapore, buying Singapore Treasury Bills (T-Bills) can be a great way to build passive income.
Are you familiar with Singapore Treasury Bills? If you are not, let me explain in simplistic terms to you. Treasury bills (T-bills) are short-term Singapore Government Securities (SGS). They are issued at a discount to their face value. Investors receive the full-face value at maturity. The Singapore Government issues 6-month and 1-year T-bills.
Unlike Singapore Savings Bonds where the issuance size and interest rates are announced on the Savings Bond website on the first business day of each month, you need to watch out for Singapore Treasury Bill MAS Announcement Date and Auction Date. This information can be found at Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) website under Auctions and Issuance Calendar.
If you prefer, just download a copy to keep on your computer’s desktop.
If you have been watching the news, Singapore Banks have started to reduce their interest rates. For example, UOB cuts the interest rates for its flagship UOB One Account effective from 1st May 2024. This is in anticipation of the hopeful upcoming Fed interest rate cuts.
