Singapore REITs To Buy in October 2023

Let us go back to look at Singapore REITs to buy in October 2023. The United States government is currently sitting on a $33 trillion debt. This week, the United States government faced a shutdown if the lawmakers could not reach a deal regarding the bill. A government shut down means a delay in salaries for millions of federal employees and military personnel. This saga has thrown the US stock market into turmoil over the entire week.

At the eleventh hour, it seem that a measure proposed by the Republican was supported by the Democrats which was to keep federal funding going for 45 days, albeit with a freeze on aid to Ukraine.

What does this 45 days measure mean for global stock markets? In my opinion, the stock market may rally tomorrow on the temporary good news. Volatility in the stock market is expected if we count down the 45 days.

Such crisis is an opportunity for investors like me to add my favourite companies in my watchlist to my stock portfolio. In September, I added more of Frasers Centrepoint Trust (SGX:J69U), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Autodesk Inc (NASDAQ: ADSK).

As usual, I like to share that it is very tedious to analyse each and every individual REIT to decide which ones to buy. By the time you finish analyzing all the REITs, the boat would have sailed away.

As a quick way, I will usually use a stock screener to screen for a list of REITs that meet my predefined criteria so that I have a shorter list of REITs to analyse.

It is important for you to know that you should not buy the stock solely based on the current dividend yield. The screening only provide you a shorter list to analyse further.

With the shorter list of stocks, I will then drill in further into each of them to analyse if they are worthy to add into my stock portfolio. My preferred stock screener is the Stock Screener from Stocks Café.

Many reader keep asking me at what current dividend yield will I buy? Below are the criteria that I used to screen for dividend stocks. You can adjust them to fit your risk appetite.

  • Current Yield (%) >= 5 and <= 10
  • Price / Earnings <=20
  • Price / Book <= 3
  • Market Capitalization >= 1B

I have screened the highest yielding REITs and sorted them in descending order based on their current dividend yield. Please do your own due diligence prior to investing into the below REITs.
