The effective interest rate for March 2017 Singapore Savings Bonds is 2.38%.
It seems that it is now easier to buy Singapore Savings Bonds. When I logged in to OCBC Personal Internet Banking, I noticed a new menu option called Singapore Government Securities in the menu.
Upon launching the page, I realized that it is now easier to buy government securities such as Singapore Savings Bonds, Singapore Government Securities (SGS) Bonds and Treasury Bills.
Step 1
Log in to your OCBC Personal Internet Banking page. Under the menu Investments & Insurance, you will find the option “Singapore Government Securities”.
Step 2
Click on “Buy” under “Singapore Savings Bonds (SSB)”.
Step 3
Enter how much you want to invest and the account to deduct from.
Neat and thanks for sharing.
I wonder if UOB or DBS will follow soon.
Thanks for sharing. Think it’s a safer bet to invest in SSB rather than buying IL insurances.
