I am on track to grow my financial assets based on my Financial Goals Progress for November 2024! As we get nearer to the holiday season, my spending was higher due to dining out and shopping. On the back of higher spending, the total value of my financial assets grew slightly from 84.01% in October to 84.33% in November.
For new readers, you may be asking why am I updating the progress of reaching my financial goals every month? I have set myself a financial goal to stash sufficient money (target) which can help me to retire early in Singapore. I have written a post about Financial Freedom versus Financial Independence. Financial goals are objectives that I have set in order to achieve financial success. Setting financial goals is important as it provides direction and motivation for managing money effectively. By establishing clear financial goals, I can track my progress, make informed decisions, and work towards achieving financial stability and security.
One of my posts about Fixed Deposits was extremely popular in November 2024. I am not sure of the reasons, but it may because people like you and me might be looking for high interests yielding places to park our money. DBS continued to offer 3.20% per annum for their fixed deposit. The returns offered by Singapore Savings Bonds and Singapore Treasury Bills seemed to have improved since the Fed cut interest rates by 50bps.
Singapore REITs took a slump after Donald Trump won the US election on worries that the Trump administration policies will raise inflationary pressure on the heated US economy. As a result, the Fed may slow down their rate cuts. As a result, the total value of my stock portfolio took a minor dive but was cushion by other non-REIT stock investments.
Updates to My Stock Portfolio
I took opportunity of the weakness and added more of Frasers Centrepoint Trust. As such, Frasers Centrepoint Trust is now the 4th largest holding in my stock portfolio.
Just to share that I used Stocks Café to keep track of my stock investments, Singapore Savings Bond and Treasury Bills and it is one of the best stock management software that I have used so far.
