Earning Miles For My Next Sweet Holiday

I own the Citibank Premier Miles credit card. If you hold this credit card, you know that the benefit is that the miles earned using Citibank Premier Miles credit card never expires. You can convert the accumulated miles into Krisflyer miles and that was my original intention for owning this credit card. One Citi mile is equivalent to one Krisflyer mile. I am looking forward to redeem my next holiday!

Today I received a promotional email about earning up to 42,000 miles in just two months.  There are two options provided by Citibank on this promotion.

Option 1

The first option is to spend S$9,000 between 1st July 2017 to 31st August 2017. An administrative fee of S$238 will be deducted once you have spend and reach the qualifying amount.

By dividing S$238 by 31,200, this works out to be S$0.0076 per mile.

Option 2

The second option is to spend S$3000 between 1st July 2017 to 31st August 2017. An administrative fee of S$58 will be deducted once you have spend and reach the qualifying amount.

By dividing S$58 by 6,400, this works out to be S$0.0091 per mile.

Summary

From Singapore Airlines website, you can purchase 1,000 krisflyer miles for US$40. At current USD to SGD exchange rate, US$40 works out to be around S$55. By dividing S$55 by 1,000, this works out to be S$0.055 per mile.

The Citibank Premier Miles promotion is a good deal!

I doubt I am able to spend $9,000 in two months but I can try for the qualifying spend of $3,000 instead. To participate SMS “MILES XXXX” to 72484 where XXXX is the last 4 digits of your main Citi PremierMiles Visa Card.

Have you participated to earn miles for your next holiday? It will be interesting to know how many readers have signed up for the promotion like me. Please leave a comment below if you have signed up just like me.

  1. I signed up too. Cheap miles, even though I doubt I can even hit $3k tier as most of my expenditure is planned for. Times are bad for miles chasers in SG these days hah!

  2. I signed up for this too last year on option 1, so we qualified for the bonus promotion.

My wife used this a lot for her business so to date we have chalked up near to 150k miles, I guess that sets our next traveling via SQ finally 🙂
